A LITTLE ABOUT ME
After 25 years in retail management, I made the decision to step away and build something that felt more meaningful, working outdoors and caring for dogs every day.
I’ve grown up around dogs and animals my whole life, and I now live with my family and Lincoln, my Rhodesian Ridgeback x Weimaraner.
As a full-time working dog owner, I understand how important it is to find someone you can genuinely trust. Someone who takes the worry away and ensures your dog is safe, cared for and happy while you’re out.
I provide calm, structured dog walking and home visits, delivered with care, consistency and attention to detail.
Your dog’s safety and wellbeing is always my priority, which is why I keep numbers low and only walk small, carefully matched groups.
Every dog is treated as an individual.
I offer solo walks and small group walks tailored to suit each dog’s personality, pace and needs. Walks are never rushed or overcrowded, allowing dogs to feel relaxed, confident and fully engaged in their surroundings.
Older dogs are given the time and gentleness they deserve, enjoying calm, steady walks at their own pace.
Puppies are supported with patience and care, with age-appropriate walks designed to build confidence and encourage positive behaviour.
Every walk is thoughtfully planned to combine physical exercise, mental stimulation and positive engagement.

MY APPROACH
I believe dogs thrive when they feel calm, understood and secure.
My approach is centred around structure, consistency and respect. Every dog is treated as an individual, and I take time to understand their personality, routine and needs.
I keep numbers low and groups carefully matched to maintain a calm walking environment. This allows dogs to relax, build confidence and engage positively with their surroundings, without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Safety is always my priority. From secure transport to clear routines and attentive handling, every detail is considered so you can feel confident your dog is in capable hands.
Clear communication matters too. After walks and visits, I send photo and video updates so you can see your dog’s adventures, check in on how they’re doing, and enjoy a little peace of mind while you’re out.
This isn’t about doing as many walks as possible.
It’s about doing things properly, with care, consistency and genuine attention.

We have just started to let our 2 German Shepherds use the excellent services provided by Dawn. The initial meet and greet went perfectly, followed up with a few forms giving the information needed. Dawn is extremely professional, always on time (or early), takes great photos and our dogs love her! They always come back tired, but happy! It’s a big decision to allow someone new to take our dogs out, choosing The Major’s Daughter-Dog Services, was a very good one! Highly recommended.

From the moment I met Dawn, I immediately knew my dog, Fig, would be in safe hands. She has a calm, genuine nature and instantly gave me complete confidence that she was someone I could trust! On every walk, Dawn keeps me updated with lovely messages and photos (seriously some of the best I have of Fig!), and seeing how happy, relaxed and excited Fig was made me so happy. So reassuring knowing that Fig wasn’t just being walked, but was genuinely having the best time, and being loved so much.
